A neighbor is a chef's friend in Cafe World. A chef can send and receive gifts from their neighbors as well as visit their cafe and sample the special of the day.
Adding Neighbors[]
Once a chef starts playing Cafe World, it is important to add neighbors. This means inviting Facebook friends to the game, or inviting friends who already play Cafe World to become a neighbor. Once they accept the application and accept a chef as a neighbor the chef may then visit their cafe.
Benefits of Neighbors[]
There are several benefits to having neighbors.
- Earn cafe points and coins - Sometimes, while at a friend's cafe or at your own, a message will appear, asking for help. If you help the friend, you can earn coins and CP.
- Expand your cafe - By obtaining a certain number of neighbors, chefs may pay for cafe expansions with coins instead of cafe cash.
- Earn Medals - By adding more neighbors, chefs may earn the medals by gifting and helping others at their cafe.
Helping neighbors[]
Helping your neighbors by just visiting their café isn't available since you can spice your neighbors dishes. That is since 24th or 25th of April, 2010. A chef may help all of their neighbors once every 24 hours, but you receive CP and coins only for the first 300 visits (Neighborlimit as in Farmville). Up until March 17, 2010, for the first 20 neighbors helped, 20 coins and 5 Cafe Points (CP) were earned. For the rest, only 5 coins and 1 CP was given. As of the March 17, 2010 update, Cafe Points and coins earned for visiting neighbors appear to be based on your level. The table shows how many points and coins you will get for visiting a neighbor for each level. Values can be wrong +/-1. Please post different values if you find any. The formula isn't fixed completely yet (CP : y=19/30x -1,3 | coins : y=2,56x -5,76). After level 190 you reach the max of CP and coins. |
Spicing Dishes[]
You can also help neighbors by spicing dishes.
If you spice a spoiled dish, it becomes unspoiled and you are given the opportunity to share some with your friends.
If you spice a dish that is cooking, it gets an additional 10% servings.
If you spice an empty stove, the next dish gets 10% additional servings. When you do cook and delete on that oven all dishes get 10% additional servings until you leave your café.
You can sometimes find spice to share with your neighbors.
You also get several CP and coins for spicing your neighbors dishes. Ca. four times the CP you get in coins. What makes it rise is not clear at the moment.
Reported CP/coins pairs are:
Level | ||
---|---|---|
12 | 50 | |
167 (25.04.2010) | 26 | 105 |
167 (27.04.2010) | 105 | 421 |
It could be that you get as many CP and coins in spicing as you got for visiting your neighbors. Look at the table above and report if the values are right.
When your dishes are spiced you can give a 'Thank you' to your friends. They will get one spice free. It's like a lottery: you can choose between three boxes and can win any kind of spice.
See Spice Rack for some more details.
Visiting Outdoors[]
You can get 50 CP for visiting each neighbor outdoors by watering their garden.
In addition you can send each neighbor 25 VIP Garden Salads.
